The debate centers around whether to buy cotton t-shirts, polyester t-shirts, or poly-cotton blend t-shirts. Each fabric offers unique advantages and disadvantages, as well as provides the best style of short for different projects.

The downside of cotton is the fabric is not as strong as polyester or a poly-cotton blend. Cotton shirts also are susceptible to wrinkling if not cared for properly. In fact, cotton shirts often require professional dry cleaning to prevent wrinkles.

The rugged fabric is often manufactured from recycled plastic bottles. Because polyester is not absorbent, it dries faster than the amount of time it takes cotton t-shirts to dry.

Polyester wholesale t-shirts take longer to break down, which means the apparel is not as eco-friendly as cotton. The lack of breathability creates discomfort for workers that spend most of their days toiling outdoors in hot, humid weather conditions. If you have sensitive skin, then polyester might cause minor rashes.

For years, designers manufactured t-shirts by using an all or nothing approach. Eventually, designers caught on to the benefits of blending cotton and polyester to create poly-cotton blend shirts. Considered the best of two fabric worlds, poly-cotton blend blank t-shirts offer consumers fashion versatility and above average durability. They maintain shape and colors longer than either 100% cotton or 100% polyester.
Blending cotton and polyester does not deliver as much comfort as 100% cotton wholesale t-shirts. There is also debate about how much of each material designers should blend. The most common blended combination is 50% cotton and 50% polyester.
